Literally a minute up the road from our house is the Coronet Ski Field, it's an easy drive up to the ski field certainly compared to other ski fields in NZ. The drive is unbelievably beautiful especially in autumn with colours of gold, orange and red everywhere. It took about 15 mins to get to the top and the ski field looks great i.e. modern and surprisingly big with plenty of runs.
We are particularly looking forward to Friday night skiing with lit runs and a DJ! Sounds very cool.

Old Cromwell
We have driven past Cromwell a few times not realising there was so much more to it, well - Old Cromwell! There wasn't a lot to do but the cafe was great and children loved playing around the pier for an hour or so.
Bungy!
When Duncan and Katrina said they wanted to visit the Bungy in the gorge I went with little excitement as watching people jump off a bridge did not really appeal. However, inside was amazing with lots of screens and there was a cafe! It was almost like a museum with lots of facts and figures which kept the boys more than entertained. A real surprise.
Autumn in Queenstown
Everyone told us that autumn was special in Queenstown but nothing prepared us for this, the colours are amazing. The temperature has dropped a fair bit but we are enjoying wrapping up warm and looking forward to skiing on that snow!

Parker Time!
The arrival of the Parkers was a blessing as it allowed us to share what we love about Arthur's Point but also got us to do the more touristy things which we haven't done yet.
We have sorely missed their friendship and it was great to just hang around together and drink, a bit. Always a good time! The Luge was a great highlight and showing them the Morning Star reserve is always impressive, every time I visit it blows me away. The boys love seeing the jet boat, to be so close is unreal.

Bits and Pieces from March
We are preparing for winter and apparently our central heating is expensive and not enough, hence a lot of wood. We have spent a fair bit of time in Arrowtown which is a beautiful place in autumn, lots of colours. We are enjoying having a fire, it's very cosy. Lovely Nanna keeps sending regular parcels and the boys love it, they really appreciate the varied magazines particularly Dr Who!
Arrowtown Festival
The festival came highly rated because of the 'Classic Cars' and of the autumn feel. However, there was so much more! We tend to expect something quite small which is overly busy but there was loads of stalls and fun activities for the kids.
The singer Craig Smith was there which entertained Fran for awhile, not quite Opshop but a close second. The boys were able to have lots of sugar and there was decent coffee so all were very happy.
Its lovely to be around an autumn again with all the colours which reminds of us when we were in the states, beautiful. We have even found conkers and acorns!
